CableLabs Technologist Chosen to Address Service Providers at the 2023 BIG 5G Event

CableLabs is proud to announce its Principal Architect, Randy Levensalor, will be a keynote speaker at this year’s BIG 5G Event held by Light Reading on May 16, 2023, at 4:20 p.m. Central Time, in Austin, TX. In his presentation, Randy will discuss extending O-RAN to wireline networks. CableLabs Issues Architecture Specification for CPON 100Gbps Single Wavelength PON

CableLabs has now issued the Architecture Specification for Coherent Passive Optical Networks (CPON) 100 Gbps (100G) Single Wavelength PON. With increased capacity per wavelength, extended reach and higher port density, CPON represents a monumental technological advancement for next-generation broadband access over fiber optic networks. The newly issued specification, first in an expected suite of specifications, will help prepare for the capacities and services needed in the future, ensuring that CableLabs members have the bandwidth and tools necessary to lead the broadband industry. CableLabs Technologists to Discuss DOCSIS 4.0, Passive Optical Networks at Fierce Telecom’s Broadband Technology Summit 2023

CableLabs is proud to announce its Principal Architect, Doug Jones, has been chosen as the keynote speaker at this year’s Broadband Technology Summit, a free, virtual event held by FIERCE Telecom on April 18th and 19th, 2023. The keynote will address the current stage of the DOCSIS 4.0 rollout, the next iteration in the DOCSIS standard for data transfer over coaxial cable TV connections, which will allow cable companies to remain competitive with fiber. CableLabs Partners with Its Subsidiary Kyrio to Host the 5G Challenge

For the second consecutive year, CableLabs has been chosen to host the 5G Challenge, a competition held by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration’s Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (NTIA-ITS). CableLabs will host the Challenge in partnership with its subsidiary, Kyrio, which built the first O-RAN Alliance Open Testing and Integration Center (OTIC) in the Americas. This year’s challenge will focus on testing interfaces among the Open RAN-specified subsystems, and will also expand to include the RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) and 5G core network interfaces.
