Announcing the Remote PHY Device Qualification Program

Similar to our highly successful DOCSIS certification programs, manufacturers can now submit RPDs, whether they’re in R-PHY Nodes or R-PHY Shelves, for formal qualification testing at CableLabs. Once submitted, these devices are extensively tested by our partner Kyrio to ensure that they comply with our specifications and that they will successfully interoperate with other compliant devices. Congratulations CableLabs Technical Architect Brian Scriber for winning an Outstanding Contributor award from OCF. The award was created to recognize member companies and individuals whose outstanding contributions have advanced the Open Connectivity Foundation. According to OCF, Brian has been "instrumental in driving security requirements implemented in OCF 1.0 and driving the Security WG. Canadian Set-Top Box Energy Conservation Agreement Kicks Off With Inaugural Steering Committee Meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Toronto, June 1, 2017 – Last week, signatories met face-to-face for the inaugural meeting of the Steering Committee of the Canadian Energy Efficiency Voluntary Agreement for Set-Top Boxes (CEEVA) in Toronto. Representatives from each of the signatories as well as Natural Resources Canada and supporting organizations CableLabs and the Consumer Technology Association were in attendance. The parties met to further the implementation of commitments that are expected to reduce the total annual energy consumption of Canadian set-top boxes and cut annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 100,000 metric tonnes, the equivalent of taking more than 44,000 cars
