CableLabs Recognized by OCF with an Outstanding Contributor Award

The Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), a leading Internet of Things (IoT) standards body, announced the winners of their annual Outstanding Contributor Awards. These awards highlight OCF’s member companies as well as individuals who have made exemplary contributions to OCF and its work toward advancing IoT standardization. CableLabs most significant contribution has been in the area of security; additionally, CableLabs was critical in designing and selecting vendors for a state-of-the-art PKI infrastructure. CableFax names Alberto Campos as Engineer of the Year

Alberto Campos, a Fellow at CableLabs, was named by CableFax as Engineer of the Year. With 30 years’ experience in technology and 15 years at CableLabs, Dr. Campos is regarded as the “Founding Father of Proactive Network Maintenance (PNM)” and the subject matter expert in QoE, DOCSIS technology, RF, wireless optics and network management. He holds 21 patents in the areas of wireless networks and optical communications with 36 patents pending and 58 patent disclosures submitted. CableLabs has teamed up with Charter, Light Field Lab, OTOY and Visby to create the Immersive Digital Experiences Alliance. Principal architect, Arianne Hinds of CableLabs, is helping work to develop an end-to-end ecosystem for immersive media by creating a suite of display-agnostic, royalty-free specifications.
