"The BIG Innovation Awards recognize those organizations and people who bring new ideas to life. Whether that idea is big or small, these ideas change the way we experience the world. CableLabs Continues to Hit More Milestones on the Path to 10G

CableLabs 10G journey began back in 2019, "CableLabs and its members have worked together to create and introduce technologies that serve as building blocks for the foundation of a 10G network." In 2020 alone, CableLabs reached numerous milestones on the path to 10G, including: DOCSIS 4.0 Technology Intelligent Wireless Network Steering (IWiNS) FMA Spec Release 25G/50G-EPON Increasing Wi-Fi performance Field-testing the 10G platform for the first time And more! Kyrio Partners with Wireless Broadband Alliance

Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) just announced users of the new OpenRoaming™ service "will be granted enterprise-level security, thanks to a partnership with infrastructure security experts, Kyrio." "As part of the new partnership, Kyrio a subsidiary of CableLabs® will join Google and Cisco as an Issuing Intermediate Certificate Authority (ICA), providing innovative agent and registration authority services to the broader WBA family, including networks, operators, hubs and identity providers." CableLabs Member, Vodafone Germany, Now Has 22 Million Gigabit Connections Available in 13 Federal States

An additional 730,000 connections in the Vodafone cable fiber-optic network now offer gigabit-speed! "Vodafone has thus completed the gigabit upgrade in its cable fiber-optic network in 13 German states and completed the largest gigabit expansion project in Germany. Around 12.6 million cable households now have gigabit Internet access in Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland." CableLabs Hits Another 10G Milestone

On September 30, CableLabs released the Flexible MAC Architecture (FMA) library of specifications along with the FMA MAC Manager Interface (MMI) and the FMA PacketCable Aggregator Interface (PAI) specs. "As a part of the suite of technologies that support the 10G platform, FMA is a key disaggregated access network architecture that supports DOCSIS 4.0 requirements to achieve downstream speeds up to 10 Gbps and upstream speeds up to 6 Gbps."
