CableLabs Wraps Up Transformative Year of 10G Milestones

Five years after the broadband industry launched its 10G network initiative, progress in key areas is further cementing CableLabs’ leadership in future-ready broadband networks. The advancements in DOCSIS 4.0 technology, fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) adoption, Low Latency DOCSIS and coherent passive optical networking (CPON) moved the 10G platform closer to broad realization in 2023.

CableLabs members also made strides toward 10G adoption, with broadband providers around the world beginning to deploy their own 10G networks or announcing their roadmaps to deployment.

10G is a combination of technologies capable of delivering faster symmetrical speeds, lower latencies, enhanced reliability and better security in a scalable manner. Ultimately, these efforts will deliver more reliable user experiences to support immersive media, videoconferencing, gaming, artificial intelligence and other applications.
