CableLabs Defines Network Security Baselines with Release of Zero Trust Best Common Practices

Recent attacks have shown that traditional perimeter-based networks should no longer be considered secure. Zero trust architectures are one of the greatest tools we have against threats to access networks. On September 24, 2024, CableLabs and industry steering committee members published the Zero Trust Best Common Practices (BCP) document that focuses on zero trust implementation, secure automation and security monitoring, as well as defining consistent and default security controls to infrastructure elements. An industry first, this is an open document that can help align vendor and operator practices and technology — with specifics that support the direction provided by various global governments — around zero trust architectures. For more details and a link to the BCP, please visit the CableLabs blog.
