5G networks will require the deployment of small cells much closer to the end-user than traditional macro cell networks. Because of their extensive reach, cable HFC networks are well positioned to provide connectivity to Mobile small cells for LTE and 5G networks. A collaborative development effort between Cisco and CableLabs has resulted in a simple, innovative solution that will enable greater convergence between DOCSIS and LTE networks. We’ll share details on the proof-of-concept development using an open source LTE small cell and an API on cable CMTS that enables real-time scheduling alignment of the access network and the small cell network.
Hope you are able to join! We'll be opening up the floor for Q&A at the end of the webinar.
