This session will spotlight the sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives of CableLabs and its subsidiary, SCTE®️, which have been driving efforts in this area for more than 10 years.

SCTE’s Energy 20/20 Program brings together broadband providers and program members to create new ANSI standards and develop energy-efficient operational practices. With operators promoting environmental goals, it is more important than ever to leverage the collaboration platform that the SCTE Standards Program provides to help industry participants meet those goals. In this session, SCTE’s Derek DiGiacomo will provide an overview of the program and its areas of focus.

CableLabs leads the highly successful energy efficiency voluntary agreements for set-top boxes and small network equipment in the U.S. and Canada. These programs are important, as these deployed devices consume several times more electricity than the service providers’ operations. CableLabs’ Debbie Fitzgerald will present the remarkable progress that service providers and vendors have made in this space over the past decade.

      Speakers:
Debbie Fitzgerald, Distinguished Technologist and Director, CableLabs
Derek DiGiacomo, Senior Director, Energy Management Programs and Business Continuity, SCTE
    • 11:35 AM – 11:50 AM MDT HOW TO BOOST YOUR SUCCESS BY ENGAGING WITH CABLELABS SUBSIDIARIES

In this session, learn how CableLabs’ subsidiaries Kyrio and SCTE help support the full life cycle for broadband network technologies through their respective testing and certification services and talent development resources. You will hear from Jeff Leget and Jill Banks about the subsidiaries’ products and initiatives.

Kyrio helps manufacturers ensure that their devices are ready for the rigorous certification process and to further test those and other devices against other industry standards as well as operator criteria. With complete access to CableLabs’ facilities and staff expertise, Kyrio can test wired, wireless and PON devices for interoperability, functionality and other capabilities, offering independent validation of device operating characteristics to vendors and interested operators. FlexTest enables manufacturer engineers to remotely perform these same tests within the Kyrio test network against the full range of testing devices.

SCTE is at the forefront of innovation, dedicated to preparing the workforce of the future. To achieve this goal, the SCTE Learning and Development team is concentrating on several critical areas. These include course redesign, strategic partnerships, advanced technology and an enhanced learner experience. SCTE’s innovative initiatives are helping shape the industry’s workforce by equipping learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the rapidly evolving industry landscape.
