Certification & Qualification Process Overview

Working in cooperation with cable operators and cable equipment manufacturers, Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (“CableLabs”) has developed groups of various specifications to facilitate the manufacture of interoperable cable devices, including cable modems, set-top boxes, digital televisions, and various telephony devices (“Specifications”).

Interoperable devices based on common specifications facilitate consumer choice, widespread deployment of new technologies, and lower costs to both cable operators and consumers.
